Theory Correct?

GM Tiara: Pie. Or any sweet shaped like it.
GM Skannar: Cheescake. Which is a cake that looks like a pie. This is so confusing.

Pie team... Making a comeback?

For days cake has taken over most of the main towns (Henesys, Orbis, Leafre, sometimes Magatia), pie only rarely winning maybe Magatia. Now, with the update of more channels, pie is winning more... Or maybe it's just that the GMs have joined the fight to the pie's advantage. The other possibility is that a few hackers might have emerged in desperate times to win.

See here, in this screenshot (taken from the Official Maplestory Website) I edited of seemingly GMs, MOST of them are on the pie team.

So, these GMs may have seen the pie team losing very badly and decided to change the rules to their advantage and join the fight. Of course, if my theory is right, there are still a few cake GMs trying to defend what they can.

Cake VS Pie - News Update

Most people will have noticed this by now, but I am still posting it here.

Now summoning bosses in NINE different channels!

When a faction has turned in 100% of the faction pieces, look for the announcement that bosses will be summoned in channels 2,3,4,5,6,7,8 and 10. Remember, turning in faction pieces in any channel will contribute to the tally in that town.
Victory is determined by the faction that has taken over the most channels!
To take over a channel simply defeat the boss in that channel or wait until the timer runs out. You’ll need to dominate at least 5 channels to win the battle.
In situations that result in a tie, the faction that summoned the boss will win.

Better communication!

Messaging has been changed to better communicate to players when a channel or map is full.

Less Lag!

Some changes were made to how certain graphical elements are handled so you should experience less lag.

The rewards are given out as before--you’ll have to have handed in faction turn-ins and be on the map when the boss is defeated, or when the timer runs out. We just have a lot more channels for you to duke it out now! And what does all this mean? More of you will be able to enjoy the epic battle that is Cake vs. Pie!

This historic war of desserts will last until June 15th and to the victors will go awesome spoils:
- 50% EXP bonus when hunting in surrounding maps
- Town merchants will offer a discount of 20%
- Mini-dungeon access
- 5th Anniversary Insignias (can be traded for a 5th Anniversary permanent weapon and more!)

Maplestory's 5th Anniversary Contests

PC Wallpaper Designing Contest
Show the Maple team and the Maple community how much you love MapleStory by designing your very own MapleStory 5th Anniversary themed PC desktop wallpaper.

The wallpaper must:
- Clearly show the MapleStory logo.
- Use at least one in-game image.
- Otherwise you may draw, take photos, or create any other sort of artwork.
- Show your game character ID and world name.

Winners selected by the MapleStory team will be eligible for the following prizes:
